

FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR U-M MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH PROJECTS
M-CASTL announces the availability of funding to support research projects related to the Center's theme "Safety and Mobility throughout the Lifespan." The Center invites proposals that address the Center’s three research thrusts:
• Understanding and addressing the changing perceptual, cognitive, and psychomotor abilities of older drivers to help them maintain safe driving
• Understanding and addressing the transportation needs of young people and older adults when they are unable or choose not to drive themselves
• Understanding and addressing the elevated crash risk of young drivers
Up to four projects will be funded, with a maximum award of $75,000 per project. The focus of the Center is multidisciplinary and all U-M departments/units are encouraged to explore funding opportunities through this offering.
Due Dates:
Letter of intent: June 4, 2010
Proposals: June 25, 2010
Projects begin: September 15, 2010
